A man and his three young children found dead in a car submerged in a lake after they went fishing died accidentally and the man was drunk, officials in Indiana said Wednesday. Hurricane Kay is forecast to track north along the Baja California Peninsula through Friday. It will then turn westward off the coast just short of the US-Mexico border, but not before making the closest pass to Southern California for a hurricane since 1997’s Hurricane Nora. New Air Passenger Protection Regulations come into force today. The update comes as Transport Canada tries to close a loophole that has left some passengers unable to secure cash refunds following pandemic-related flight cancellations. From Thursday, airlines will be required to issue full refunds for cancellations and delays if passengers are not rebooked within 48 hours, including for reasons beyond the airline’s control. Previously, the passenger rights regime only required refunds for flight cancellations under the airline’s control, which excluded situations ranging from weather to war to unplanned mechanical problems....

Robert Telles, the public administrator of Clark County in Nevada, was arrested on Wednesday after Jeff German was stabbed to death outside his home on Friday after what police described as an altercation. The body of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reporter, 69, was found the next morning. He died of “multiple sharp force injuries”, the Clark County Office of the Coroner and Medical Examiner said. The arrest of Telles, 45, was confirmed to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, which said that Mr German had written stories about him....
