Police surround a daycare and church in Glenmore. UDPATE 6:35 p.m Police have now cleared the area around Green Gables Nursery in Valley Road. Multiple parents tell Castanet they were told the facility was facing a bomb threat as they were picking up their children this afternoon. The church of Praxis is located in the same location. Castanet is still awaiting comment from the RCMP. A crash on Glenmore Road at Kane Road has also been cleared and traffic is moving. ORIGINAL 5:50 p.m There is a heavy police presence in Glenmore in the Cross Road and Valley Road area. There are several police roadblocks in the area affecting Cross and Valley roads. Drivers should avoid the area. Officers appear to be focusing on a daycare and church near the corner of Cross and Valley streets. A caller to Castanet’s newsroom says when he arrived to pick up his child from daycare this afternoon, he was greeted by police and told there was a bomb scare at the facility. All children were safely removed from the premises. Police at the scene declined to comment. There is also an unrelated collision near Glenmore Road, near the Kane Road junction. Traffic at Glenmore is down to one lane in both directions. Castanet requested more information from the RCMP spokesperson.
