In a service notice, BC Ferries says the 4 p.m. departing from Tsawwassen and at 6 p.m. with departure from Swartz Bay both are cancelled. The routes at 12 p.m. and at 2 p.m. departing from Tsawwassen and Swartz Bay, respectively, were canceled earlier today. The company says other services on this route should sail as scheduled. At 10:30 a.m., Environment Canada issued a “Storm Warning” for the Strait of Georgia, south of Nanaimo, meaning “gale force” winds of 34 to 47 knots (63 to 87 km/h). in the local marine area.
