The psychological thriller – directed by Olivia Wilde and starring Pugh alongside Harry Styles – which debuted at the Venice Film Festival on Monday (September 7), will open in the US on September 19. While Pugh skipped the previous press conference in Venice, Warner Bros. has now confirmed to Rolling Stone that Pugh will not be present during the New York Q&A session with the rest of the cast. The film studio said the reason is that the actress will be filming in Budapest for her upcoming role in Dune: Part Two. With Pugh already leaving the Dune set once to attend the Venice world premiere, director Denis Villeneuve obviously can’t lose her again. The news comes amid weeks of rumors of behind-the-scenes drama, from on-set romances to altercations over casting and a feud between Pugh and Wilde. The Independent has contacted Pugh’s representatives for comment. During the film’s world premiere, all eyes were on the cast. A brief but puzzling interaction between Chris Pine and Styles has gone viral on social media, with speculation that the former One Direction bandmate had spat at Pine. Don’t Worry Darling will be in general release on September 23rd.
