Police surrounding a daycare and church in Glenmore. UDPATE 6:35 p.m. Police have now cleared the area around the Green Gables daycare on Valley Road. Multiple parents tell Castanet they told the facility was dealing with a bomb threat as they picked up their children this afternoon. The Praxis Church is at the same location. Castanet is still awaiting comment from RCMP. A crash on Glenmore Road at Kane Road has also been cleared and traffic is flowing. ORIGINAL 5:50 p.m. There is a heavy police presence in Glenmore in the area of Cross Road and Valley Road. There are multiple police barricades in the area impacting both Cross and Valley roads. Drivers should avoid the area. Officers appear to be focused on a daycare and church near the corner of Cross and Valley roads. A caller to Castanet’s newsroom says when he arrived to pick up his child from the daycare this afternoon he was greeted by police and told there was a bomb scare at the facility. All the children were safely removed from the facility. Police at the scene declined to comment. There is also an unrelated crash nearby on Glenmore Road near the Kane Road intersection. Traffic on Glenmore is down to one lane in both directions. Castanet has requested more information from the RCMP spokesperson.
